Review

*This was an ARC provided to me for free in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and comments are my own.*

I am never disappointed with anything Jessica Park produces. I definitely have to start by saying this book is a total mindfuck. I felt like I was tripping at times. It is bold and unlike anything I’ve ever read before. The storyline is original and the characters are unique. Prepare yourself to be impressed by a new side of Jessica Park.  There is an element of darkness yet something so incredibly beautiful about this novel. I spent a good portion of this read saying, “Fuck,” “Holy Shit” and “OMG.” I’m pretty sure I even had to pick my jaw up a few times, but I loved every minute of it! Actually, I couldn’t put it down. In truth, I wondered to myself a few times “WTF am I reading,” but in a,”wow did that really just happen” way. There are so many layers to this novel and I’m being my usual evil self by giving minimal information, but I do believe this is a book you just need to read and experience on your own.

I fell in love with Sam, I hurt with Stella, and I desperately tried to understand Costa. Each element of this story is like a piece of a puzzle. There is no way to really prepare for what you will experience reading Clear. It is unrestrained, unpredictable and quite frankly A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Jessica Park impresses the reader with her literary genius pushing boundaries and drawing the reader into one of the most cleverly crafted worlds I’ve ever experienced. The emotions you’ll experience while reading Clear will make you feel as though you have stepped into this book and become one of these characters. You will walk with them through every struggle, every hurt and every triumph. All the love, resentment, anger and sadness that they feel will slowly seep its way into your core forever branding you. This unforgettable, incredible story will consume you. I devoured it. Clear is erotic, intense and utterly addictive. It will mess with your mind and test your limits. It may even freak you out a bit at times, but it is sure to be a mind blowing ride. I was absolutely spellbound and I have no doubt you will be too. Fingers crossed for more Death Tripper novels!!!

This book can be classified under many genres and I can’t say that it falls under any one category, but I would highly recommended it to New Adult and Paranormal Romance fans. BTW – There is no cliffhanger, I just want more. LOL.

The Paranormal in The Reason Series:

I knew from the beginning that Mikah was more than a rich, handsome man. There was always something special about him, about the way his body talked to him, about the inner workings of destiny, and what that destiny would lead him too.

When I write a book there is a basis that I have in my head… They meet, they fall in love, they have sex, they live happily ever after – boring right? Giving Vivienne and Mikah their angel abilities really allowed me to shape them into the loving characters they are. They both realized that because of their heritage, they were destined to do something great in their life and it draws them closer to each other and to those around them.

Their being angels brings out the relationships of my supporting cast of characters and it takes their dynamic to a whole new level. Could it have been done without being an angel, absolutely – but I wouldn’t change it for all the money in the world. I adore my angels!

Book Review: Reborn (The Guardian Trilogy #3)

Reborn_ebook_final

Synopsis

You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.

When Emma Donohue wakes to find her world turned upside down, she wants nothing more than to return to the life she knew. To a life filled with a loving family, close friends, and college classes. To a normal life that didn’t involve the supernatural, odd bracelets, or three strangers who refuse to leave her side.

Unsure of what truly happened during The Allegiant’s attack, Emma tries to reconcile her past with her growing feelings for James, Garrett, and Dane. They remain steadfast in her protection, awaiting the arrival of the only people who hold the answers.

The Larvatus.

When Madeline and Ash appear, the revelations they bring not only rock Emma’s world, but everyone she touches. Her mind is twisted, caught up in new abilities and new desires. Her old self forgotten, she has never been more scared. She has never been more confused.

She has never been more empowered.

You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.
But, sometimes, the absence leaves space for something better

Review

*This book was provided to me for free in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and comments are my own.

If you have not read Guardian or Allegiant take a step back and immediately read them.

This review MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. You have been warned.

I realize that when it comes to final books I tend to take my time getting to them. I like to live in my book worlds and when I know the end is near, I dip into other worlds before finally committing to ending my trilogy/series. I received Reborn over a month ago and for some reason kept pushing it aside. I was going mad waiting for my ARC, but when it was finally in my hands I didn’t know if I was actually ready for it to end. The first two books in the trilogy left me in utter disbelief. By the end of Guardian and Allegiant, Sara Mack was indeed evil, but Reborn is the finale, this was different, things would be resolved, we’d get answers and Emma would undoubtedly need to make some very difficult decisions. I wasn’t ready. I still don’t know if I am fully ready to let go of this fantastic trilogy.

I have been under the weather for a few days and although I joked with Sara Mack that I have been in and out of consciousness I decided to spend my time reading Reborn. I can say in all honesty I would have finished this book in about 2-3 hours had I not been sick, but it did take me a couple of days. I procrastinated with this book and I don’t know why. Simply put, Reborn is amazing. I loved it as much as the first two books. I think a big part of me was dying to see who Emma would end up with, but since I fell in love with James, Dane and even Garrett. I think I may have felt as torn as Emma.

This book definitely changes the game, leveling the playing field. With these “strange” men vying for her affection, Emma has to choose wisely. She has bigger things on her plate, but losing her memories has helped her get reacquainted with James, Dane and even Garrett. Something that early on I felt may have clouded her judgment. Losing her memories was both a blessing and a curse. Emma is able to sort out her feelings based on the present and not so much the past, there are a lot of events that occur in Reborn, centered around her memories and her emotional state. Emma is strong in many ways, but the challenges she faces with the Larvatus, the Allegiant and her love life solidify her character and to what lengths she will go to protect those she loves. She builds new relationships and rekindles others. Emma has an incredibly difficult challenge in Reborn and Sara Mack executes this dilemma flawlessly.

This book gets a bit crazy at times, there is a lot going on. Every time you think there is no way things will get more complicated or insane…guess what? They do! I loved every minute of Reborn. It’s hard to express all my feelings without giving much of the story away, but I will say I think you will be satisfied with the outcome and the decisions that lead Emma to her HEA. This is the perfect ending to a phenomenal trilogy. I love every single character in Emma’s circle. I was saddened by a few events that took place, but I will not detail much of those events because this is a MUST read. This book had me on an emotional roller coaster, but I’d gladly take the ride again. I highly recommend this trilogy to my paranormal/fantasy fans. This is an incredible story that will completely captivate you from start to finish.

About the author

Sara Mack is a Michigan native who grew up with her nose in books. She is a wife and a hockey mom on top of being trapped in a windowless office forty hours a week. Her spare time is spent one-clicking on Amazon and devouring books on her Kindle, cleaning up after her kids and two elderly cats, attempting to keep her flower garden alive, and, of course, writing. She has an unnatural affinity for dark chocolate, iced tea, and bacon. Guardian is her debut novel.
